The concept behind the event Nano Nautanki this year was simple- conveying an idea to the audience with a knack of passionate storytelling and dramatic intensity. Creating a world within the minds of the audience and populating it with characters borne out of dialogues and actions.
Nano Nautanki, lived up to all expectations, bringing out a plethora of emotions represented in vivid detail and color by the performances of 7 teams who fought it out for the number 1 spot. The acts themselves ranged from what the poor would do to make their lives better and the hilarious situations that come up in the process to the heart rendering story of an army commander whose sacrifice was made vain by dirty politics and corrupt officials. The occasional dance step added a good dose of humor to an event which kept the audience enthralled with the varied aspects of life that the participants enacted on stage.
At the end, the team from Guru Nanak College took away the top prize with a well enacted play where a Govt. employee takes a loan to buy things. Unable to pay back the load he decides to commit suicide and how the companies approach him with various suicide schemes and offers. Showcasing brilliant expressions and a good dialogue, the team won the hearts of the judges and the audience.
Nano Nautanki too enjoyed a good deal of success, something which is fondly common with many other events this Milan. And if every other event follows suit, SRMites will have something to be very proud about this year.
