The Variety in X- Factor

People generally think that what cannot be incorporated in any of the three genres that are dance, music and drama, those events constitute the category called variety show. But that is not entirely true. It is an assorted class of cultural extravaganza that truly has variety in it. With lots of space for creativity   and liberty to choose from any topic and to perform in any style, the variety show was a brilliant display of talent with participants trying to outdo each other with novel ideas. The competition was judged by Aathavan a well known radio jockey , video jockey and a stand - up comedian and Nancy Jennifer who National award and 13 other awards winner for her movie ‘Nerrukku Ner’ in Tamil .
The participants sent the audience giggling and laughing with their hilarious dramas and skits and mime costumes. The show started off with Gurunanak College’s performance, a mime focusing on the elections that are due next month. They even performed stunts that left everyone twisted!
Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai left everyone awestruck with a very innovative neon light show in which they made various words and symbols with white hand gloves that glowed in the neon light. They illuminated their path to victory and bagged the first prize. Moreover, their act of dedicating a Tamil song to every cricketer tickled the funny bone of all and left everyone LOL! Students of Crescent Engineering College put up a remarkable shadow act wherein they conformed to various shapes, figures and animals, much to everyone’s amusement. The neon ribbon shapes were their way of showing inventive figures in neon light.
The crowd seemed to enjoy each and every part of the show with jokes and comments on various known personalities. All the colleges did a commendable job of  entertaining the audience altogether .
The event had quick visits from popular celebrities like actress Poorna and well known singer and actress Andrea Jeremiah .
With MIT winning the first prize and Crescent College of Engineering and Gurunanak College of Engineering bagging the second and the third prizes respectively, the show ended with everyone still smiling at some of the jokes and comments. So keep smiling this Milan because they cost nothing!
